Best all-rounder

Branches across Canggu, Seminyak, Sanur and Ubud. Good imported cheese, meat, baby items and household goods at fair prices.

Imported goods

Sunset Road, Denpasar. The widest imported range on the island — European dairy, proper bacon, gluten-free, baby formula.

Seminyak & Ubud

The old expat favourite. Strong deli and bakery, decent produce, always busy on Sundays.

On every corner

Mini-marts for water, snacks, SIM top-ups, toiletries and bill payments. Open late, sometimes 24 hours.

Cheapest produce

Pasar Badung, Pasar Canggu, Pasar Ubud. Go before 8am with small notes. Prices are a third of the supermarket; polite bargaining is expected.

Bulk refills

Zero Waste Bali, Bali Buda, Earth Cafe and Samadi Sunday market for bulk grains, refills, organic veg and sourdough.

Most residents shop from the sofa. These are the apps that matter.

GoMart / GrabMart: supermarket delivery in 30–60 minutes, the default for most residents.
GoFood / GrabFood: restaurant delivery almost everywhere, often cheaper than eating out.
Sayurbox and Bali Direct: fresh produce boxes delivered from local farms, ordered a day ahead.
Tokopedia and Shopee: everything non-food — electronics, homeware, fans, tools. Delivery from Java takes 3–7 days.
Set your delivery pin carefully. Bali addresses are unreliable, so add a landmark note and share your WhatsApp for the driver.

Drinking water: never drink from the tap. A 19-litre Aqua gallon is IDR 20k–25k delivered; buy a dispenser or pump once and refill forever.
Cooking gas: 3kg or 12kg LPG canisters delivered by the local warung for IDR 25k–200k. Keep the empty for exchange.
Laundry: IDR 8k–15k per kilo, next-day, usually washed, dried and folded. Mark delicate items or they will be tumbled hot.
Rubbish: most villas pay a local collector monthly (IDR 50k–150k). Confirm collection days when you move in.
Cash: BCA and Mandiri ATMs are the most reliable. Withdrawal fee is IDR 50k for foreign cards; take the maximum each time.
Pharmacies: Kimia Farma, Guardian and Apotek K-24 (24 hours). Many drugs sold over the counter here need a script at home — and vice versa.
Repairs: your villa manager or the nearest warung will know a handyman. Aircon service every 3 months is standard in this climate.
